How to Measure a Suit for Your Child
Our boys' suits are measured in centimeters. If you’re preparing for a special occasion, measuring your child for a suit is straightforward and follows the same steps as for an adult. Taking accurate measurements is key to finding a suit that will be both comfortable and flattering for your child.
Signs a Suit May Be Too Small
A suit that’s too small often shows clear signs, especially around the shoulders and waist. You’ll notice the blazer pulling tightly or sagging at the shoulders, flaring outward when buttoned, or covering less than 80% of the buttocks. Trousers that feel too snug during everyday movements are also an indication the size might be too small.
Signs a Suit May Be Too Large
If the suit is too large, you’ll see that the shoulder pads extend past the shoulder line, the jacket looks baggy, and the trousers fall below the ankles, draping over the shoes. A well-fitting suit should allow you to slide a couple of fingers under the sleeve, reveal a small portion of the shirt cuff, and provide a snug fit in the trousers.
Below are our boys' suit sizing measurements. For more guidance on taking measurements, please refer to our section on measuring suits.
Final Thoughts
Remember that these measurements serve as guidelines, and the actual fit can vary depending on the brand and style of the suit. Whenever possible, try on the suit or consult the specific brand’s sizing chart to ensure the best fit.
